I need these data to provide quotations, enter into and perform agreements for translation and related services, and keep the associated administrative records.
Legal basis for processing these data
I need these data to perform an agreement between us, comply with a legal obligation or pursue a legitimate interest. For example:
- Retaining invoices where required by law.
- Keeping contact details to perform an agreement.
- Retaining translated documents where necessary for my business operations or to provide an additional copy at your request.
Retention period
I retain your data for as long as we have a business relationship, and for at least as long as the law requires. If you tell me that you no longer wish to use my services, I will destroy your data unless the law prevents me from doing so or I need the data for legal proceedings.
How data are stored
Data are processed in my business records. Requests submitted through this website, including contact details, the accompanying message and uploaded documents, are also stored in the website’s online environment. The request overview and document downloads are accessible only through my administrator account. Please provide only the documents and data needed for your request. When a new request is submitted, I also receive an email containing your contact details, the information entered in the form, the uploaded documents as attachments and links to the securely stored documents. Resend is used to send this notification.
Sharing data
I treat your data as confidential. Technical services provided by the website and storage providers are used to operate this website and store requests. Data may also be disclosed to public authorities where I am legally required to do so.
Complaints
If you disagree with the way I handle your data, you may lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Requesting consent
I use the data you provide when requesting a quotation to handle that request. If you commission a translation, I process the data needed to perform our agreement and keep the associated administrative records.
Withdrawing consent
Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent. This does not affect processing that lawfully took place before you withdrew it. Data needed to comply with a legal obligation or perform an agreement cannot always be deleted immediately.
Access to your data
You may ask me at any time what data I hold about you. I will respond as soon as reasonably possible.
Amending your data
You may ask me at any time to amend your data. I will do so as soon as reasonably possible, usually on the same or next day, except during weekends, holidays, illness or other periods of absence.
Deleting your data
You may ask me at any time to delete your data. I will respond as soon as reasonably possible, usually on the same or next day, except during weekends, holidays, illness or other periods of absence. However, I will then no longer be able to carry out assignments for you. When I can actually delete your data depends on any legal requirements or other circumstances, for example if payment is still outstanding or I have completed an assignment but have not yet delivered it. In the meantime, I will stop processing your data except for the relevant legal purpose.
Data portability
If you wish to move to another provider, you may ask me for a record of all the data I hold about you so that you can take it to your new provider. This does not include any translations I have retained: these will be deleted but will not be transferred.
Automated processing
The website form automatically processes and stores your request. I personally assess the content of your request and carry out the translation work. The form does not send an automatic confirmation email.

Spam protection
When spam protection is enabled, the quotation form uses Cloudflare Turnstile. Cloudflare processes technical data, such as your IP address and browser information, to detect automated abuse. The contents of your documents are not included in the verification request sent to Turnstile.
